  • I'm currently reading something by a new author (s).

Blessed Child  by Ted Dekker & Bill Bright.  It was recommended to me by my MIL and if I had looked into the authors a bit, I probably wouldn't have read it.  It's Christian fiction/suspense.  One of the authors founded Campus Crusade for Christ.

I actually like the story and the writing is pretty good.  It's a little heavy on religion in some parts, but that's to be expected once you realize who the authors are.

  • LOL-I am doing this challenge in another group.  I am currently reading Chocolate Bear Burglary by Joanna Carl.

Lee McKinney is handling her first winter in Michigan rather well for a Texas gal. She insists that the cold won't slow her down. What does stop her in her tracks is the sudden appearance of her ex-stepson, Jeff. Sullen and refusing to discuss why he's there, Aunt Nettie offers him a temporary job at TenHuis Chocolade.

Meanwhile, the town is getting ready for a teddy bear promotion to try to attract winter visitors. Lee and Nettie have borrowed some antique chocolate molds to decorate the shop. But then the shop is broken into late at night and a murder takes place. Are the two related? Why did Jeff sneak out of the house both nights? And, most importantly, can Lee clear him of murder?

This is not my normal type of book but I am enjoying it.  I probably won't read anymore books by this author.

I have a couple other books in the TBR stack that fit the challenge & will get to at least 1 of them before the end of the month.

  • Ooh, this is a good one.  Actually perfect timing.  I have "Rescue" by Nicholas Sparks here and I've never read anything by him.  I'm also reading "Columbine" by David Cullen, also a new author for me.  So I have two that will qualify for the challenge.

  • Hmm thats kinda hard.... I grab random books and start to read.... I only have 2 books by authors I haven't read before and I am reading both of them. The Reincarnationist by M.J. Rose and The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri

So far I would recommend the Divine Comedy, its an interesting read so far I am in part one of the book "the Inferno" and its been about the 7 layers of Hell.

The Reincarnationist was interesting when I first started to read it. I put it on my bookshelf and walked away from it when work got hectic and now that I am on bed rest I think I may try to read it again and see if i would recommend it.

  • I just finished "This is Where I Leave You" by John Trooper.  Very good book, I'd read his others if they crossed my path. It was actually referred by an email my local library sends out.

My book circle book that I started today is by a new author for me as well.

  • I've never read Linda Howard before, so Mr. Perfect fits this category for me. I might pick up something else of hers if I'm ever in need of a good fluff read, but it wasn't good enough for me to forsake all the unread books on my bookshelf to put her at the top. :)

  • Linda Howard is new to me too.  So that will be my challenge book.

  • I finished Good Things by Mia King this morning.  I had never heard of her before, but I was browsing in the K's in the library and stumbled across this book.  It was pretty good, and I liked the recipe section in the back.  King has written two other novels, and I'd like to read them both.
