Let's challenge ourselves to read some books off of the NYTImes Bestsellers list.
You can pick whatever # you would like. Please post the number below and keep us updated on your progress.
Here is the link to the list:
I'll shoot for 6...I have to check and see, but I think 4 of the books I have chosen are already on that list, so I'll add on two more. Its not much but I'm a realist.
Will this list change as the year goes or is this an end of year list?

I believe the list is updated on a weekly basis, so it will change throughout the year. I may be wrong on how often it is updated, but it does frequently change. So keep on eye on it for new ideas.

If I see a book that seems interesting, and put it on my "want to read" list, but am unable to get to it until a month or so later, does it still count? If so, I'll try for 24. If not, let's say 10.
That's just fine. I think of it more as a way of expanding our horizons. I know there are books on there that I have never heard of, but end up really enjoying.
I'm in this one, also. That makes 6 challenges for me in this group alone!!! I'll go for 10. It shouldn't be a problem as my # goal is 150+.
BTW- the lis is updated weekly. Add the link to your faves or your desktop for your convenience.
I think I'm gonna try to read 6 books for this challenge. Maybe more depending on the time I get.

I read a lot of non-fiction that eventually hits the best sellers list. I look in debut fiction/nonfiction in the periodical Bookpages. I've enjoyed a lot of those non-fiction books--Marley and Me. I loved Blink & The Tipping Point by Malcom Gladwell so I'm excited to read Outliers. Gladwell is awesome reading.
I've never cared for many recent bestseller novels. For example, I tried to read Edgar Sawtelle, it just wouldn't get going. Word of mouth says it rocks, but I can't seem to enjoy it. Word of mouth goes on and on about Stephanie Meyer, too, so I pretty much quit while I was ahead on Edgar Sawtelle, as I had just given up on Twilight. Stephen King is the one exception to bestsellers. I read him through, just finished his newest short story collection.
Wally Lamb is really good, too so I'll hit him whenever the library gets it in.
