My daughter is 3 years & 8 months old.  She started talking about 3 months ago, which is a good thing.  However, she repeats everything she says over & over unitl I repeat it word for word back to her.  That is what is so frustrating, because her speech is very hard to understand it seems to take forever before I understand what she is saying.

It could be an age thing. But I have notice that my son will do it more just so he knows that I understand what he is saying. Frustrating.....yes. Annoying.....yes. But it is such a joy to being able to let him know that I heard him and that I understand.

I told this my a friend of mine the other day when she asked me doesn't that bother you? I said, yes and no. Most parents can't wait for their child to walk and talk. And then they can tell them to, sit down and shut up. I waited to long for him to talk, longer for real sentences to come, and longer for me to understand. I want him to know that I do understand, and his words do have meaning.
