Bath Problems

We have been having bath problems with my 13 month old.  We try real hard to make sure the bath temp is lukewarm but sometimes he still screams and swells up on the mast. spots.  Has any body else had this problem?  Or have thought on how to help my little one?

Bella's skin will get really blotchy and a little itchy when she gets a bath. She's never cried though. I'm sorry I'm not any help.

No we haven't had this problem, but we have to keep the water temp lukewarm to cool.  Maybe you can use an oatmeal bath like aveeno?  I would check with doc maybe.   Not sure if that would be of much help or not.  Poor little one!!!

Riley went through a phase where he absolutly HATED baths. Try putting some baking soda in the water. I heard that it was initally supossed to help with itchyness of diaper rashes but it also helped sooth some of riley"s sores. And now as you can see, he LOVES baths!

That's a great suggestion!  I forgot my Granny used to tell me that!!!  Thanks for the reminder!!!  Candi loves baths, we have to spell the word around her! lol

That's too funny!  Candi loves anything to do with water.  She keeps asking to go to the beach now that she sees that they have been doing work on it on the news.  All the sand being put down there in Galveston from Ike damage. She wants to go so bad! lol  We are trying to put her off for a bit longer.  Did go once during spring break and it was a lot of fun! They have a lot of work to do still though!

Did you try the baking soda, Gabby's newest thing is hives and when she gets those she flares and gets a lot worse in the bath. We use the baking soda to make it more relaxing for her, doesn't eliminate the problem just makes her more comfortable and we try to make those shorter baths than her normal staying in til the water is cold!

You may think I am crazy but we use milk of magnesia in the water for a bath. Not only does it help with the masto spots but for some reason it calms Max's skin. He doesn't cry in the bathtub anymore. We also use baking soda or oatmeal. That works too in a pinch!
