Yesterday, the Environment and Public Works Committee tried to start voting on amendments to the Boxer-Kerry climate bill -- but all the Republican members of the committee refused to attend the hearing.

The Senate's Boxer-Kerry climate bill, in its current form, would, among other things:
- raise the 2020 target for greenhouse pollution reductions to 20 percent below 2005 levels.
- ensure that revenues from carbon regulation goes to transit, bike paths and other green modes of transportation.
- give the EPA the authority to regulate coal plants under the Clean Air Act.
As the bill is debated in committee, we need to make it even stronger! Tell your senators: Push for and pass a strong climate bill! >>
