Tip #4: Size Matters

Generally, the larger your cooking appliance is, the more energy it consumes. So make sure you choose the appropriate size of appliance each time you cook. You may have used your oven to cook that quiche, but when you reheat a single slice, use the toaster oven or the microwave, which is very efficient at cooking small items (because of its speed). When using an electric stovetop, choose the right size burner for the pan you're cooking with. Using a large burner with a small pan wastes heat and energy.
