As a mom who tends to wish more people were "greener" i have found an entire industry focused on getting us normal people to buy all new products and gadgets and cleaning supplies in an effort to guilt us into being more green.
I could be completely wrong too.
But it is my opinion that it doesn't cost any more money to be green. To green your home, you dont go buy a bunch of new products. You use up what you have and start using your money more wisely.
I can see buying some plastic for your windows, or a few extra garbage cans to sort more things, or even a few plastic storage containers for the garage since you will not be throwing away as much but saving or donating or repurposing more items from your home.
But being green shouldnt mean spending more.
What does being green mean to you? Are you green? Do you consider yourself somewhat green? I am learning more everyday, and I notice the green theme of good living and conservational living is inching itself away. Did you see the new commercial for disposable hand towels in the bathroom? REALLY????? Its still ok to use a towel. Just wash them, change them around, but paper towels for the bathroom? I dont care about a party, or about the flu when it comes to being at home. Disposable is still a waste of money, a waste of trash and just a gimmick. Yet, extremely convenient.

Disposable hand towels for home bathrooms? People have gone crazy. Being green can be cheaper sometimes too! That is certainly one of them!
Being green to me means reducing what you use like water, electricity, not wasting. Recycling and using more recyclable products. Using green (no harsh chemicals) products to clean my house and wash my clothes so that harmful chemicals are not being put down our drains and into our waterways poluting our fish, plants and lakes, etc
I try to make as little impact on the enviroment as possible , dont through trash on the ground , reuse everything I can get my hands on ,more walking less driving ect.....
Liveing life , while consistantly keeping mother earth in mind is the simplist way I know how to put it . Takeing care of mother earth and letting her take care of us by useing organic and natural , simple things in every day life :)

Being green to me means using cloth diapers for my babies when I'm at home and using cloth wipes too :) limiting my use of paper towels for only the use of catching fried food and cleaning glass :) Using non-toxic earth friendly products in my home :) Recycling most things that are recyclable. Cooking at home, not eating fast food (cups, straws, paper wrappers, sacks...the waste generated by fast food chains really irks me) ...
I'll admit I don't conserve water or energy. I would love to have solar panels. I also don't recycle plastic grocery bags like I should or use recyclable grocery bags often enough.
