I just planted them this year I have bleeding hearts, peony's, and a rose bush by them also but only my hosta's are being attacked!  I think its a bug or slug.  There are holes in the middle of the leaves, so I don't think its rabbits and they are turning brown.  What can I put on them?

Slugs and snails love hostas. There are specific insecticides for slugs that you sprinkle around the base of the plant. But another method is to put out a bowl or pan with an inch or so of beer in it overnight. In the morning it'll be full of the little buggers. Presumably, you'd have to keep doing this until the pests are no longer a problem. Good luck!

eeekkk  how long would that take?  We have 2acres of land and every time I dig I find them!  Do you think if I can just get them taken care of in that area they wont come back?
