I totally understand how you feel trying to raise find free things to do
Hobby Lobby was having a huge sale so I went a bought a bunch of crafting stuff for the kids to do and we've been having movie night at home, cooking together, picknics at the park.
I looked on wctv's event calendar page, there are a few thinsg coming up in the next few months that are a ton of fun for the kids and most importantly FREE http://www.wctv.tv/community/events?cat=Community+Events&c=y
The photo is a craft that the kids and I did this weekend out of foam and yarn. and only cost $12!!!!
