Ok, so DD now has had a total of 4 heart surgeries..her cardiologist told us her heart is now better than his, lol..here is my question, when people notice her scar or I talk to certain family or friends they always say to me, how do you do it? I get a little sarcastic, maybe because I don't understand the question?? How do you deal with questions that are not teaching opportunities?

Thanks for noticing!!!Pro-Choice Mama for Obama!! I have a baby because I WANTED one, not because I HAD to-//Never have a battle of wits, with an unarmed person...

although Frankie hasn't had her heart surgery yet, she has has 4 hip surgeries... people (family and friends) ask that all the time... "how do you do it?" or... "how do you handle it, she looks so healthy"... ugh

my simple reply... "we just do... it's hard but you find a way to manage... for HER" and leave it at that...

ugh...

I always say "What other option is there?" I know that not what you are looking for because it is slightly sarcastic but I dont understand people when they ask "How do you do it" I mean what were we SUPPOSED to do? He is our son!

Yeah after 4 years I'm getting annoyed with that question too. I say "How could I not?". I just don't get it, I guess that's their way of showing sympathy but it's not like I have a choice. I had her, I love her, I deal with it so she'll live. No one askes HER how she does it. SHE'S the one with the life-threatening condition.

I used to get REALLY mad at my in-laws. People would come up to us, and ask THEM how THEY'RE doing, and how THEY can be so strong, when I'm standing right there holding her in my arms. They'd say "oh yes it's hard, we struggle every day". Really? STFU you hardly see her, never come to appointments, just shut up
