Did any of you guys have a scheduled c-section due to your baby having some sort of heart problem? The dr.'s discovered something off on my last ultrasound with the baby's heart, so I am scheduled to see a pediatric cardiologist in a week and a half. But it's got me worried about vaginal delievery and fetal distress etc. I plan on talking to my dr.'s about this but I wanted to see if any of you have any helpful info

thanks :)

I know several heart moms whose babies were delivered vag. and their babies had some pretty serious defects. I for one had a c-section, but for different reasons, 1 I was a repeat, 2 I was having twin. I didn't even know about my sons heart defect until he was 3 days old.

My DS was born vaginally. We didn't know he had a heart defect though. (((HUGS)))!

thanks y'all <3

I would really like to deliver vaginally, but I want to do whatever is safest for the baby. I wish my appointments were sooner, i'm ready to talk to my doctors and get some of this figured out. It's the NOT knowing anything that's killing me.

What defect are they saying he/she has?

they are not sure yet. During the ultrasound they noticed one of the ventricular outflow valves were dilated to about twice the normal size. I have an echo scheduled for the 10th of this month to see if they can figure out what is causing the extra pressure or whatever is happening to the valve.

I'm sorry, Mama. That's what I was wondering about, would it be better to have a planned c-section than risk vag & have an emergency one.

I had a c-section because my son's heart rate dropped.
