Hello,

name is francescamarie. I am 4 1/2 mnths pregnant with a little girl [my 2nd child]

i was born with pulmonary atresia i had 3 open heart surgeries- I was born back in 1988, they didn't know anythig was wrong until i was a "blue baby".  but my daughter is at risk for having the same issues and I'm scared to death.

I have to go for 3d ultrasounds ever 2 weeks to watch her heart devolopement.

Anyone in the group found out their childs DX in utero?

My DD (my oldest) wasn't diagnosed until after birth and I had 3 different ultrasounds with three different techs! I am now expecting #3 and with both #2 and #3 I had an echo done at 24ish weeks to check the heart. So far only my oldest has a CHD.
Good luck with your DD!

My daughter's AV canal wasn't diagnosed until birth. We only had 1 ultrasound around 16 weeks so it totally missed it and her Down syndrome. My second pregnancy with my son involved more ultrasounds to be on the safe side but he was fine.  I was told by the cardiologist that if we would have had a ultrasound at 20 weeks with my daughter then it probably would have been caught.

My son's PA=IVS  wasn't diagnosed until after birth, when he started having problems.
