The place my son goes for OT asked us to change therapists today and fabricated the reason why
Today the place my son goes to for Occupational Therapy called to ask me if we would mind changing therapists to this new guy that works there. They said it was because the owner and the therapist thought it would be a better fit for my son. What upsets me is that well first off I know the real reason they did this and it is because of an incident that happened last week when I was there. And yes I informed the receptionist that called that I knew why they wanted us to change. See last week the parents of one of the kids that see this new therapist had walked back to see how his OT session was going and came right back and went up to the receptionist to tell her that they had seen the therapist hit there child on the arm because he wasn't cooperating with him. They were pretty upset and the owner even brought my sons therapist out to speak with them. I was sitting right there the whole time. So when they called I knew instantly the REAL reason they wanted us to change since we go at the same time as they do. Do you think I am wrong to be upset about this? How would you feel if it were you and your child in the same situation? Also does anyone know what has to happen for a therapist to lose there job after something like this. It kinda seems like they did nothing about what happened and of course they straight out lied to me since there was never any mention of changing therapists before this and it is a long wait when they are asked by the patients to get a new therapist or even time. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I would try to not worry about this too much. We had an appt. with a Dr. that was highly recommended by other parents and he would not treat my son. Some Dr's will do this if they feel like another has more expertise with bipolar, OCD..ect. They also will ask you to make a change if they're overbooked or going on a trip. It's just a business to them, but a life line for us. *hugs*
