Only took me 10 months but I finally have a new pyschological evaluation for my oldest son.
Now hopefully his ARD (IEP) Commitee has to see my point a little more clearly as they claim homeschool was a lack of educational oppurtunity and was the root of his global delays. That he just had a TN accent (we are now in TX) not a speech disorder and that he DID not have bipolar or PTSD..because he did not report a sleep disorder or flashbacks to the school's interviewer. (for one thing..a 9 year old that doesn't sllep doesn't realize its a disturbance)
NOW the NEW specialist that I FOUND and I made the long drawn out effort to locate and take the boys to see has finally made his own diagnosis and he is licensed in TX so im hoping it holds a little more weight in TX... My son has been in public shool all but 3 months of the last two school years here in TX! .
Dalton's new disorders are....according to the Psychologist...
Attention Deficit hyperactivity disorder combined type.
Phonological disorder
Cyclothymic disorder
Borderline Intellectual Functioning.
The psychologist said he may continue to have PTSD but is not currently exhibiting symptoms.
My son was taken out most recently for being bullied at school and I want to know does anyone have a child with similar diagnosis?
Does anyone homeschool their bipolar chid?
Do you have a home teacher (a teacher sent from the school board a set number of hours a week to work with your child)
Anyone know where I can look for more help? I have him seen by a therapist for talk/play therapy, a med dr for his medications he's currently on Focalin and Vistril for his mental health disorders but his "imiginary enemy is leeching into his little brothe's vocabulary and realm of blame for trouble" and im unsure if I need to have the meds adjusted or look to a different type all together.
Any advice???
my daughter ws dx with cyclothymic disorder (bipolar) cognitive behavioral disorder, and adhd-nos.
We are having a ruff patch. There isnt a psychiatrist in our state that has treated a child with her disorder so no ones knows what to do. I wish you the best of luck hun!
Love me, Like me, or Hate me either way I'm still me!
