Well we went to see the Endocrinoligest, because the pediatrician thought Beau's tyroid was enlarged.  It turns out that it was.  He has aquired primary hypothyroidism.  When the docotor told me that we were lucky to catch it earily, because if not he would become violent and out of control.  I really had to laugh,(what else can you do)  With his bi polar he has already been introuble at school and with the police for threating to kill a girl in his class.  Wow good thing we caught this one early.  Sorry, just frustrated with the whole thing.  So many doctors to keep up with.  And i am just so tired to telling each and everyone of them what all is going on with him.  If they are all suposed to work together, how come they can not talk and figure out what is going on with out asking me all the same questions?  Anyone have bi polar and tyroid issues.  Please let me know how you handle it all.

  • Wow, I totally share your frustration.   The irony that sometimes goes with this can drive you nuts...  Having to explain every tiny detail of my son's issues, does become daunting.  I almost feel like typing up a "bio" or "resume" and just handing it to all his doctors.    My son has ADHD and bipolar, but not thyroid issues.  Not that I'm aware of anyway.     I hope it all works out for you.  My only suggestion is to do some research on both issues because a lot of medications can have bad interactions.    Good luck  :)
