Mrs. Terry had a great idea about posting up all of our info on one post on who's available to babysit and what ages. I know there are 3 girls who will need to re-post their answers and I'm sorry. But I'm making this post a "sticky" post so it's always at the top and available! So here's what we need:

Hey everybody.  My name is Gina.  I am new here, we have been here 5 weeks now, my house is still being "assembled" but I make sure it's safe for children.  I do own a babygate, a play yard (looks like a bunch of baby gates all connected).  I have a travel crib/playpen.  I am available for babysitting whenever.  Actually, my son is 13 and he is going to be taking the next babysitters course as well.  Here is a bit about me...

I have some college in Child Development (I stopped because I had my DD...5 years ago, and just haven gone back).  I recently was Smart Start GA certified as a Preschool Subsitute teacher.  I have been babysitting for 20 years (oh my gosh, that long, really??).

8. The ages you would take I am just fine with all ages.  I have lots of craft things.  That is my favorite to do with kids.  Playdough is abundant in my home as well as an art easle, chalk, crayons, wooden puzzles, etc (oh did I mention I did Family Child care for a year 12 years ago).

HI my name is Brittni. Im still trying to get used to the whole desert atmosphere. Ive been out here since about April, im originally from Ohio. My house is child proofed. I have safety plugs everywhere, and a gate for the stairs. My dining room has become a play area full of toys. I have a big suv if needed to come an grab kids if there happens to be an emergency and you need a sitter right away ( you wont need to worry about dropping them off), or to go to the park, etc. I only have a porch but there is a little play are behind us that is a matter of steps away. (it has grass!! lol) I have a 18 month old daughter named Lexi. she is extremly friend and always willing to share with anybody. (very lovey). I have worked with all ages of children. Back in Ohio i worked in a daycare and I also worked with people who have "special needs".

5. Where you live: Our in town off of Lupine out by Stater Bros grocery store. We are renting a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath house with a huge gated in year. It's in a quiet, safe housing area. The houses are about 2 or 3 years old

6. Do you have any of your own kids: I have an 11 month old daughter

7. Are you certified/trained in CPR or First Aid: I am not but I have done a great job with my daughter

8. The ages you would take: I am open on that as well. I have an 11 month old so I have no problem changing diapers and feeding. I have plenty of toys and play equipment for ages 1 month to about 3 years old. But any age is fine. I love kids

I have done babysitting out here before. I use to watch my friend Jen's son who was a little over a year then, so she could go to work. When she quit, she didn't need me anymore. I've watched a 2 month old when my daughter was like 4 months. I stopped watching her because her Mom also quit working. And I do babysitting for another Marine wife. I watch her 2 year old. Right now they are on vacation so she doesn't need me. But, when she gets back, I will be watching her daugher again. I have two out of the three ladies on my CafeMom if you'd like to speak with them for reference.

5. Where you live: On base in Adobe Flats I right on Rainbow Canyon. If someone non military needs me I will pick up and delivery from right outside the main gate.

7. Are you certified/trained in CPR or First Aid: My certification ran out and am looking to get it re done soon.

8. The ages you would take: Any is fine with me. If in the process of potty training, please bring only diapers/pull ups so if there is an accident it won't be on my floor.

 

A little about myself. I have an entire area set up for my son filled with toys and stuff to do. I have 2 child gates that I keep the up in the livingroom and the kitchen so those are the only 2 areas open. You would have to supply food or can add a dollar on the the price per hour per child if I have to supply food. I live right next to one of the parks. I have a crap load of disney movies and childrens books. I love to color and draw myself so I have coloring books and colored pencils. I have the ABC magnets on my fridge. I have a wonderful rabbit that doesn't bite and loves to be loved on. I have a great dog that couldn't be better with children. My house is not fully child proof but I believe that if you raise your children right and teach them at a young age to stay away and to not touch things that you don't need to fully child proof your house. I do not have plug covers yet but will soon since my little one is on his way to crawling. I do use time out and have a perfect bench for little ones for it. I say they sit for a minute for every year they are. Thanks!

Short term: $5 an hour

Two kids: $8 an hour (more kids more discount)

Weekly: $100 (if you work short hours less)

Overnight: $50 flat fee, if you pick your child up before noon if I've had them a great deal the day before.

Im going to be living in Joshua Tree but my current baby sitter is living in the 801 housing. I am willing to drive to base, my husband is in the miltary so access to the base is not a problem.
