Week # 1 - Negativity

I ordered Lucinda Bassett's/Midwest Centers Anxiety & Depression program. Has anyone tried it, what do you think about it? This weeks assignment was to write down all my negative thoughts in general and how I talk to myself- basically go into "observer mode." I have come to the conclusion that I am filled with obssesive negative thoughts! A lot more than I thought....if two weeks ago you asked me if I was negative person I would have said no. Not only obssesive negative thoughts haunt me frequently but I talk down to myself constantly. I actually caught myself saying mean things to myself about myself. I have always known I have low self esteem, it was just really sad to realize I am constantly beating myself down, again more than I thought. So in my journal I wrote them all down in one column and next to each one I replaced it with a positive one, so I can start reprograming my thoughts. Honestly I am proud of myself for really paying attention to my thoughts for a week :-) So what do you think.. you consider yourself a negative person.. how do you talk to yourself? Thank you ladies for understanding my sarrows. I am excited to share my journey to recovery these next 15 weeks. Please feel free to ask me anything. I am doing some serious soul searching and am looking forward to stoping the worrying, releasing my suppressed anger/bitterness and start living this crazy beautiful life with peace, happiness, serenity, kindness, confidance... all that great stuff I have been missing out on.

wow that sounds really interesting.... i am obsessessed with negative thoughts also..i am constantly worried... i really hate it.

Her program is supposed to be amazing.  I haven't done it yet, but I read from panic to power by her and it helped me immensely.  Good luck with the program and please keep us updated.

amazing?! YAY! Thanks mamas! I totally would recomend it if your having obssesive negative thoughts (or just in general), i've spent more on therapy and the program has helped me more. i would love to do a weekly update on each session but i am still on # 1 lol. i did great on the homework, i just have not watched the video or listened to the relaxation CD.  I am really looking forward to the relaxation CD.... i noticed  my body is tensed a lot, and i always feel so uptight.... i am SO ready to fill my brain with peaceful beautiful pictures and sounds, possitive affirmations, relaxation .. all that good stuff.

i have had relapses where i go days being all bitter, depressed and anxious but i keep telling myself rome was not built in one day and it's OKAY to have bad days :)
