im hoping for some input on what meds everyone is taking, or has taken..... i am going to force myself to go to the dr soon and i want to try to decide on my own what kind of medicine i want to try..... i am terrified of seeing a doctor and equally terrified of trying any medications, but i just feel like i need to because i am so limited on what i can do because of my anxiety.... i have 3 kids and cannot take them anywhere by myself, like to the grocery store.... i have to have my husband or mom with me at all times....
also, we have decided to move to another town, this is a HUGE change for me..... i have been living in the same town since i was born..... i want to get my anxiety under control before this major life change.....
my mom has anxiety disorder too and takes paxil... it has worked wonders for her...... if it works so well for her, should that be what i try? i have read about side effects and am just terrified to try it, what does everyone else take????
I am not on any at the moment because I am ttc. But I did very well on citalopram and was taking Sertraline back in May it calmed me down some times a little too well
I take Sertraline (zoloft) and I did great. I use clorazapam as needed. There are great drugs out there and you may have to try one or two before you find the best for you. I first tried prozac and it did nothing... everyone if different. Life is too short not to find something and start living a better life :) Without these meds, I would be the same way!
well i finally went to the dr...... my pulse stayed sooooo high.... it was at 143 when they checked my blood pressure.... went down to around 112 when she checked it again.... i also mentioned my concern about my skipped heartbeats..... she ordered an echo and a 48 hour holter monitor which i am currently wearing.... i also got a script for paxil and a beta blocker to take as needed when i have a high heart rate that i cant get down.....
i agree jalex...... life is too short to live in misery with anxiety, im so glad i finally got myself to the doctor and hopefully i will get some peace of mind when all my heart tests come back ok..... (i pray they do)
i really hope the paxil works for me!!
I take zoloft and I have taken wellbutrin. I had really no side effects from them. I also have some xanax in case of "emergency". It turns out that just having the xanax, knowing I can take it, is helpful. I actually don't take it that much but I take zoloft every day. I've heard Paxil withdrawal can be rough if you go off it. Everyone is different and your doctor can help determine what is best for you. Good luck with your move.
