I figured I'd mention this. Does anyone's child, who has apraxia/dyspraxia, have milk allergies?
Mine seems to have milk issues and there are a few other mom's who have said the same.
My 5yo has no food allergies. He has horrible eating issues that were oral-motor based though.
I've read about a possible link between Apraxia and milk allergies. My son has Oral/motor Dyspraxia and Sensory Integration Dysfunction. He has experienced issues with milk for about a year. We switched to Lactaid, as the doc suggested. She thought he was lactose intolerant, but he still seems to have issues. He refuses to eat most dairy products now.
Quoting Noahs-Mom:yes my oldest son has serious speech issues and has milk allergies.
Not sure but interesting you have mentioned such thing. My youngest DD is almost 27 months, and she is not talking one bit (words) and has several food allergies including all dairy products. She also has moderate asthma issues, had cronic ear infections till tude, several environmental allergies, and severe eczema.
Hi, I have a 6 year old daughter who is not allergic to milk/products, but has a problem with texture, has a sensitive palette (citrus acid...no orange juice, please!) And will not eat foods that are mixed together.
She likes very bland food, always wants oatmeal cereal, rice/chicken or rice/fish are her current favorites. It takes a lot of coaxing to get her to try vegetables. Though she does like sweet potatoes and squash...go figure!
