Does anyone require their seniors (or High Schooler in general) to complete a big project at the end of school? Our state doesn't require any testing or anything to say they have graduated(which is GREAT!) but I feel like there should be some BIG thing at the end. Does anyone have any ideas?
My DD has been doing American Lit, Physics, American History, German, Algebra II, Art, Music, and PE this year. I don't really want to require a paper, maybe something to focus on her creativity. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Do you have a portfolio? It's a great way to pull a little bit of everything together to see the bigger picture of what all has been accomplished this past year. If you really think that you need a "bigger project" for the end of year, have them write an essay on the things that really stick out in their mind from the past year, or do it every 3 or 4 months over the year.
A portfolio is a great place for creativity! Pictures, art work, math formulas, books read, countries where the 2nd language learned is used... just to name a few things that can be done. Portfolios are so much fun to go back and look through in the years to come!
I'm from Alberta, Canada, & we don't have strict regulations as far as hours, subjects, testing, etc. either.
This is probably too late for you now, but just me writing it out reminded me to get my gr. 11 daughter working on getting her's done for the year! Great job on getting your DD through high school!!!!
