My dd is 17 and a senior in hs. She started joint pain in Aug and the joint swelling just kicked in. This AM, her joints on the whole left side of her body are swollen.... =( She is so painful. The rhumatologist has her on piroxicam and arth tylenol so far. It does ok for the most part. She has only one credit left to graduate so, we have weeded down her schedule at school. She is so bummed! She loves school so much! I'm at a loss of what to do. This kid is never sick and now can't even kick a cold. Anyone got any advice I can give her to help her mobility on those sore mornings or how to keep her spirits up?

Exercise is good. I start stretching before I even sit up in bed. I would also ask the doctor for a different drug if this one is not stopping the progression.
Em's doctor called the other day and said we had a pos test finally. Said it was arth and we would discuss next week at her next appt. Well, yesterday I get this note in the mail saying it's a pos lupis test that is pos in arth??? All the other lupis tests are neg? I'm so confused!

That happened to me, too. One of my regular doctors did the blood tests and labeled me with SLE. I have never had any Lupus symptoms and my current Rheumy doesn't believe I have it. I never really got a decent explanation for the test or results either. I think it is one of the those things where the more tests you have, the more diseases you possibly have.
