With finishing halloween costumes, getting ready for vaca, switching jobs, putting together our Anatomy & Physiology combo-books I just don't have much time on my hands. I've also been real sick with pneumonia. Well, I think on our way home from my BFF's house in OH we'll stop in Philadelphia. So I wanted to put together a quick lapbook on the sites we'll see and such...anyone have anything for me??

Don't have anything on the Philly front, b ut just wanted to ask how you enjoyed OH?  We just got here, so I am still trying to decide if I like it or not.  LOL  Gotta brush up on my history, but there should be a lot you could do in Philly.  Liberty Bell is there, isn't it?  Lot of Thomas Jefferson info there, I am sure.  Have fun!!

My daughter has autism but she can laugh, cry, and love just like yours. she may never dress herself but she can go to college and become a dr.  she may never make friends her own age but shes my friend for life. and please if u ever get the chance to meet my daughter, stop looking at her like shes a brat, she cant help her stairs or attitudes u can help urs. get to close u might get bit but it wont give u autism. do yourself a favor look it up.

My lapbooks pale in comparison to yours so I will not bore you with pictures of our Liberty Bell lapbook.

We leave in a week and a half to go to Columbus. We've been before (this will be my third trip to OH). But it's the first time since I was in 4th grade that I'll be going to Philly and the first time for my kids (obviously)..lol..When I was in 4th we were the first elementary school to fly on a field trip - I even had my pic inthe paper, because we flew to Philly (I don't see why we did, we only live about 3 hours from there..lol).

What part of OH are you in? I've been to Cincy, Toledo and now Columbus.

We are in a hole in the wall called Findlay.  We are about 45 mins from Toledo.  I really like Toledo more that where we are, but we can still make day trips to Michigan and such so it makes it a little more bearable.  LOL  Haven't been to any other big cities in OH yet.  Hope to soon, though.  Sounds like you guys will have a blast in Philly.  Love the idea of a Please Touch Museum!!

This isn't really for a lapbook but you might find it helpful. If you plan to go to Independence Hall, try to get your tickets online. When we went, we saw online the day before that after 11 all the tours had 60-80 tickets left so we did not get any tickets. When we got there we had to wait 2.5 hours for the next tour that was not booked. The tickets are free. You pick up the tickets in the visitors center, which is on the opposite side of the square that the Hall is on. That too would have been helpful info for us.

Depending on the length of your stay the Franklin Institute is a great place to visit.

Thanks! The Franklin Ctr is a bit expensive for my tastes..lol...we have a yearly membership to our local science center. But I definately need to reserve tickets for a tour...my only problem is judging the time. I'll have a 7 hour drive to get to Philly from Canton and so it all depends on when I can wrangle the kids away from their favorite cousins they only see maybe twice a year.

Wish I would have seen this sooner. I live near Philly and could have helped you.

My daughter went with her grandma to the Franklin Institute and a few other places. She said that most of the stuff didn't work and wasn't worth the money. We plan on going to see the liberty bell and a few other places around there - it's free. However, like someone mentioned, it is better to preorder the tickets.

Explore and have fun with the Education Station group.
