Math ideas for 5th - 7th grade

Math is not our favorite subject. I have tried several different ways to teach my kiddos math but it just isn't working for them (saxon, Math U See, Mcgraw Hill). Both my kiddos struggle with mulit-digit multiplication and division. I think the light bulb finally went off in my daughter's head today and she was showing progress happy.

What do you use for math for your older children? textbook? workbook? worksheets? life skills?

Thanks,

~Tina

I did the saxon thing and lots of frustrating workbooks. It was horrible with one son and took far to long to teach 3 children a day. I just purchased Math mammoth for $150 for grade k - algebra. It is awesome! My math hater does 4 sections a day!!!! It is a mastery curriculum vs. spiraling( what saxon does). So they stay on a subject until they get it. they give you software so you can make more worksheets when/if you need. I HIGHLY recommend it for children that struggle with math. she even has videos to teach you how to teach your child. You can  see a comparison of different curricula if you click here

Hope this helps
