I love math and science. Don't get me started on how much I hate grammer and spelling though...lol...But, in the many years I've been among HS'ers one of the subjects people most worry about teaching is Science. (and math but that's a post for tomorrow..lol) The following are some of my favorite interactive resources. You don't have to have an advanced understanding of science to enjoy them. I also highly recommend the book - Scrooge's Cryptic Carol -- essentially it explains energy and entropy (heat) and touches on atomic & quantum physics, but it does so with almost no math and through the story of Dicken's Christmas Carol (Scrooge is visited by the spirits of Science Past, Present and Future).
