Or preschooler will be going into the Horizons K curriculum very soon and we are disappointed to see that they only have Phonics/Reading and Math for the core subjects, health and PE for the electives. In the Preschool curriculum there was SO much and we are very pleased. We already have the Horizons K box set, so what can we use to supplement for Science, Geography, history, etc? Thanks!

Maybe some lapbooks, a trip to the library each week on what ever topic they want to cover...

I felt the same way! For science I go with what dd is asking about and for social studies I let her pick from a list of community helpers see what's to learn about.

Last couple months we've been having a hard time get through phonics and reading, she usually love math but we've been fighting that too :(

I did Horizons pre-k with my now 6yr old, I remember checking into the Horizons Kindergarten & there being only math & a reading/phonics program. I would jus read books about different science, history etc topics, have her /him do some cool stuff like gardening, get her a telescope or something like that. I really think that for the younger ages the only comprehensive curriculum you need is for math & reading...the rest of the learning can be fun. We have chickens & just from that alone my kids seem to learn a lot, we also go around & check out other animals...we live around a lot of farming stuff, we let them see how it all works & then they ask us 5 million questions. :)
