Is there a good site that has premade "plans" for lapbooks/unit study?
I am just starting with Unit studies and am assuming a unit study is a lapbook..
What I want in the beginning is a good site that has premade unit studies for different subjects. For example, we want to do one on flight. I'd love a list of the books to read, the project to do(art related), activities, etc.
I hope I'm making sense..a lesson plan basically for that unit. Just so I can get ideas on what good ones are like, and maybe in the future i can put some together myself.
Am reading thru the responses in this forum as well..thanks!!

definately, unitstudy.com, as amanda bennet's studies are great! she had extensive 4 week studies as well as 1 week studies, and there are many topics to pick from.
I Second (and Third) www.homeschoolshare.com AND Amanda Bennett Unit Studies. Another GREAT site is CurrClick - tons of downloadable units for ALL ages...
Liked the Flight unit study I downloaded from Amanda bennett and just bought one on the continents from homeschoolshare. Curclick looks great too! Thanks! Unit studies are really fun!
I really like the ones on homeschoolshare.com, th eonly downside is that the library printer I use to print stuff off, is B/W so the colored stuff turns out bad. We jsut did a Giant Panda lapbook. It was more extensice than I had planned, but she enjoyed it. Haven't done much since then since Hannah is still sick. Hoping to do one on the phases of the moon or planets. She has been interested in that lately.
Also there's a Units and Themes group here on cafemom you might find some good stuff in.
You know I have heard about lapbooking for years, but really am not sure what exactly that is. Can someone explain please?

Lapbooks are where the student essentially makes their own visually stimulating book. We have always loved lapbooking as it works well with both my very visual oldest child and very mechanical Lerner youngest.
I have my own lapbooking blog in my wiggy.
