Since we can decice to do what we want in homeschool, I was wonder what you do for P.E.?
xbox Kinect!!! also the wii. They play it at least an hour and we have fun doing it too!!! Good luck
as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD
My kids are 4 & 6, so that may explain our activities. =)
Balance & Stretching Yoga, Bike riding, Trampoline Follow the Leader, Ball: Catch, Kick & Roll, Eliptical =), Relay Races, Simon Says (hop, roll & balance), Park Play Tag, Baseball, Soccor, Aikido, Tumbling and when it rains we hold basket races (lol, laundry baskets filled with stuffed animals and we race course through the house) Dance parties too =)
My son is 13. We like to start the day with a 1 mile walk where we plan out our day. We include activities throughout the day to get up and get moving between a few classes. such as jumping on the trampoline, playing on the kinect, taking another walk/run, strength training, and/or yoga depending on the day of the week, the weather, and our mood.
Biking, skateboarding, bowling, hiking, tennis, martial arts, weights, gymnastics, outdoor games, gym games, swimming, ping pong, wall climbing, and much more over the years. Eventually my kids found the ONE sport to RULE them all! It was a different sport for each of them and settled down with concentrating on just it.
We ride our bikes around the neighborhood every other day. They have basketballs, baseballs, softballs, soccer balls, and footballs outside that they use. We swim during the summer. Sometimes we head to the park where they climb on everything, and it has some of the same stuff they had at school to do pull-ups, and at home we sometimes do push-ups, sit-ups, etc. We head to the skating rink sometimes, walk around the neighborhood.
We do a pe program 1x a week also tennis, gymnastics, bike riding, scooter riding, basketball, swimming, just about anything that involves moving since my boys have so much energy they need to use it up otherwise they bounce off the walls and I want them to learn fun ways of staying active now so when they grow up they'll keep at them and not have to hit a gym or anything like forced exercise.
When I begin to homeschool next year, we will use our Xbox Kinect as well as our YMCA membership and taking the kids to the basketball court.
We have a tread mill and exercise bike in our living room.....we also have a wii. Once it warms up, we go outside to take walks.
