looking for a science and geography curriculum for kindergartener with ASD
I am searching for a science and geography curriculum for my daughter for kindergarten. She has Autism so it would have to be something interesting.. Suggestions please,
for science for my DS and DD with ASD we are going with http://www.realscience4kids.com/ but we are still looking for a geography one. DS is totally obsessed with maps and takes his atlas everywhere.
For geography: First, I would buy a world map (if you haven't already) and place it on the wall at her level. Some good living books would be the Count Your Way Series & Colors of the World Series. They both have world geography picture books for kids aged 4-8. Also, As the Crow Flies: A First Book of Maps, Me on the Map, and As the Roadrunner Runs. I also purchased a globe and a U.S. map. Very good resources to have on hand.
I would keep it simple for science for K. Possibly check out the Janice Van Cleave books Play and Find Out Series for kids aged 4-7 or the Backyard Scientist Series for kids aged 4 and up....or you might check into Science Through Children's Literature for grades K-3.
I never worry about geography or science until 1st or 2nd grade.
