This is the program we use through our umbrella school and I really like the convenience of it. I also keep a binder for each year with our paperwork, tests, field trips, etc.

1 mom liked this

Try Homeschooltracker.com

It has a free version and a pay version with more features.  I have the free version, and it is good.  I think I may upgrade though when I have money.

It is a download that goes right on your computer, and you work in it's database for all manner of things, like grades, attendance, books read, keeping track of what they are doing, planning, parent journal, etc.

You can run nice reports for your reviews with it too.

Goodluck,

Arianna

Edit:  For the free edition, click in the top toolbar where it says basic edition.  The buy it with all the extras, you need premium edition

It looks like you can sign up and use it but I believe there is a fee. We get it free through our umbrella.

What does an umbrella school do? In some states, homeschoolers can get some level of support and legal protection for their home education program. So while the answer varies from state to state, here are some of the typical features of umbrella schools:

  • Provide legal legitimacy to a family's home education program in states that require it
  • Issue report cards
  • Maintain attendance records
  • Host field trips, academic clubs, reading contests and the like
  • Provide a student ID card (which may be useful in obtaining discounts with local merchants)

I found a free program that also will do transcripts!  It has video tutorials and I have just started using it.  I am getting the hang of it and love the fact that it keeps all the records in one place.  it is http://www.homeschoolskedtrack.com/HomeSchool/displayLogin.do.

I am very pleased with this site.
