breeding question

I dont belong to breeding groups on here anymore because I was bashed up one side and down the other. So, here goes. Please dont bash I really just want advice.

When i got my female rottie I wanted to breed them. I still do, but I am at a loss. They are both registered and would make beautiful pups and great companions.

I either need to find a breeder contract and have that when she has a litter, or I need to get them fixed and not breed at all.

I want to be a responsible breeder if I choose to go that route. If I breed them I want no more than 2 litters.

Lately I think my male is very frustrated and he is a lot to handle. he has started sprinkler peeing all over the house, he has started chewing things up and breaking things. When she is in heat it is a lot to handle because he is so big.

She is mean to him when she is in heat. She doesnt want to be anywhere near him. she settles down a lot while in heat, but when she is out of heat she is very high strung.

If I had both of them fixed would it calm them down? I am just at a loss here. he is 3 and she will be 2 in December.

yes I know that she shouldnt have pups before a certain age, i keep them apart. They have both been to obedience class and nothing works anymore.

I love them, I just need other opinions on what to do! Help me please and please dont be mean!

I have bred my rottie twice. I never owned the stud though. Then after her & her pup I kept from litter #2 passed away, I soon bought 2 other rottie pups, they were 6 weeks old each when I bought them at different times, they were about 1 & 1/2 years apart. but I never had either of them fixed until she got  bred by accident to him. but none of mine were mean like yours, nor hard to handle. I would really reconsider breeding. So many people just tire of them and they end up in shelters or worse. Plus I always screened my buyers but a couple of my pups I am afriad ended up with the wrong people. I love rotties, they are the best dogs. You need to show them you are the Alpha. good luck.

Yes I believe that if you get them fixed you might find them to calm down a little bit. There is no gaurantee that they will calm down but the health benefits that they will get from being fixed is worth it, especially if you decide not to breed. You really have to make sure that finding homes for the puppies wont be a problem. Try to see how many people you can find that are interested in purchasing a puppy before breeding. That way you are not stuck with a litter. I have seen rotts have up to 10-12 puppies so what happens if you cant find a home for all of them? Or can you afford a c-section if such a case happens where she cant give birth to all of them herself? Only you know what you can handle/afford. No one can make the decision for you. I hope this helps. I wanted to breed my female rott when I first got her but quickly learned that she had some genetic issues so I spayed her at 4 months. Good luck!
