I came home from work on tuesday and my rottie had thrown up all over our bedroom! We shut him in there when we are at work so he can stay safe! He continued throwing up all night and would not eat! We took him to the vet wednesday morning when he still would not eat! $1500 later we find out he ate a belt and it was stuck in his small intestine and he had to have surgery to get it out and repair the damage! He gets to come home sometime tonight and the surgery went very well! I feel like such a bad owner now! He normally does not touch anything much less chew on anything or eat it! Now we have to get his crate back out and he will be in it 8 hrs a day bc we cant take a chance of this happening again! :( My poor baby! I just needed to tell my story to someone ! LOL! Anyone else have anything like this happen?

We started crate training our when he was young because he would sleep on my head and pull my hair when he woke up. We use to give Boog real cow bones to chew on, because they would last longer and gives him something to do while we are at work .well we had a scare oneday. We went to let Boog out in the morning before work and there was a puddle of blood in his crate. So we were trying to find  where he was cutt and turned out that Boog was bleeding from his butt. We rushed him to the vet turned out that the cow bones they sell for big dogs like him arent all that good. A peice of the bone scratched his inside, thank goodness all the bone passed fine but we have to give him a pill antibiotic and a shot for 6 months straight or he could have gotten an infection which the only cure would have been going to heaven. So we felt real bad now we just give him the a few bags of raw hides from coscos. He had the most embarrest look on his while the vet was checking out his butt, poor baby.
