well I am glad you and your rottie are unhurt and safe.. be wary- they may come back and hurt or kill your dog- trust no one. I hope you reported this to the police. watch for strangers and strange vehicles. Please be careful and alert. I have prayed asking Jesus to keep you & your dog safe.

Thank God that your dog chased them away. Hopefully they won't come back for fear of your dog. I have 2 beautiful Rotties protecting our home. Most people are scared of them. As long as you aren't up to no good they are the sweetest dogs ever. But try to do something bad and I'm sure they will protect us.

Stay safe. I have a pack that patrol my house and yard which includes a 1 year old Great Dane, 6 month old Rotti, rat terrier and a chihuhua. hate to see someone try to come into my house.  One day DH came home from class and this car slowed down and stopped in front of the house and DH got a bad feeling as he was getting out of his car anyways he decided to walk to the gate to the backyard and get Apollo(the Dane-we didnt have Bella the rotti yet) and led him to the front yard. needless to say the guys in the car took one look at Apollo and they hightailed it. Bella is now starting to get her Rotti bark.
