the school district decided to retest my daughter for audiotorial processing disorder and i was shocked to find out she was misdiagnosed at her old school that it is Autism (Aspegers Syndrome) and no APD her she was getting therapy for APD at both schools but this week the school was testing her on autism even though she was medically diagnosed with it to get her the aids in place and decided to retest the APD and she did well on the APD tests. Has anyone else had this happen?

I wouldnt really depend on a school system diagnosis. Our schools around here are no longer able to test children for anything from dyslexia to autism to ADHD because they're wrong -often-. I would go to the Dr & have her tested for ASD as well as APT or PSD, and a bunch of other things.

Why does she have aids?

apd is audiotorial processing disorder they thought she had it , the new school retested her for it and she does not. she has been tested by a doctor and determined she has aspergers syndrome ( a high functioning form of autism). the aids are in plqce to help her when she has a meltdown in school such as weightede blanket ,weighted vest to see the therapy dog or to put her in the ball pit in the kindergarten room also if the place gets to noisey she can be removed before it gets to her to badly.she has the medicl dignosis but they need the school diagnosis to so they can do different disciplinary actions with her to
