If you've got any birdwatching/birding hotspot info for the Cornhusker State (I think that's Nebraska's nickname-LOL!), post it right here! :)
Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue is the premier birding site in the Omaha metro area. It has habitats that include upland forest, deep hollows with natural springs, and floodplain populated with cottonwood, sycamore, and maple trees. It also has 18 miles of hiking trails, where you will see a plethora of warblers in the spring, including Cerulean, Connecticut, Mourning, Magnolia, Black-throated Green, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, Chestnut-sided, and Blackburnian. You will also see a great variety of flycatchers, vireos, and thrushes. For the most variety of what you'll see, mid-April to late May in early mornings is the best time to go.
