Hi I'm a mother to a handsome little boy named Noah. He will be one Oct.28. He is walking and trys to talk. He was diagnosed with Dandy Walker variant via ultrasound and it was confirmed mri when he was born. He is hitting all milestones but in a lot of cases this doesn't go very well. Has anyone heard of this rare disease? If so how are the children doing that you know? Thanks for your time.

 Hi!  :)  welcometo the group!!

I also am not familiar with this.  I'm sure you've done your research already, but I found this link that might be helpful to you:

http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/dandywalker/dandywalker.htm

It talks about treatment, prognosis and research.  Please keep us updated on his progress!

No, I never head of it . What is his delays? Does it affect him physically?

Welcome to the group!

I have, in fact, heard of Dandy Walker.  Before Stephen was born, I was program coordinator at a sheltered workshop, and one of the women working there had DW.  She also had hydrocephalus and a couple of other diagnoses, so it's hard to really say if the DW was at the root of her delays, KWIM?  It's a wonderful blessing that your son is doing as well as he is right now! :-)
