new to the group, question on if it is a sign of a development delay
My son, Braxton is 15months, and he will only say momma and sometime(very rarely) say dadda, but will not say anything else. he grunts a lot and "screams" (not a bad screaming but just screaming to let everyone know that he is there). he understand what we say most of the time and will sometimes do what we ask him to do, but then there are times like he doesnt even hear us. i talked to his doctor and the doctor wants to wait till braxton is 18months be4 running any test on him for autism and other stuff.
would him not talking be a development delay?
and is there any websites that can help him learn to talk?
and yes we do talk to him throughout the day and let him know what everything is.
like i can tell him to say elmo and instead of saying it he will go and pick up his elmo and bring him to me, and its like that with everything, instead of saying the item we are asking him to say he will either go and pick the item up or point to it.
sorry i am rambling, i just feel that he should be saying more at his age
Not at all. My daughter didn't talk at all till she was 2.5 years old. Now she is 3.5 and won't shut up. :) I would wait till he is 18 months old like the doctor says and not be concerned...most 15 month olds do not talk.

Does he make any other sounds? My son is 28 months and still makes only a few sounds and says no words, but does understand at least half of what is said to him. He is developmentally delayed and in speech therapy. He is just now starting to babble with limited sounds (b, d, m, f, and some vowel sounds).
Don't worry so much about your son not saying actual words. If he's at least making sounds he's probably just fine. Regardless, though, I would definitely get him evaluated by early intervention if nothing changes by 18 months. It can only help!! Hang in there. I know how hard it is to be patient.

I would say if you don't feel comfortable waiting till your child is18 months old I would contact your states Early Interventation program and have him evaluated. Trust your mother intuition.
I would do this. And welcome to the group
thanks for having me and for the most part he doesnt babble, im just hoping that its just him being hardheaded
