So my son is 4 and i will ask him questions about what he did and he will either chnge the subject or ignore me...i have to get upset for him to answer me partly. i have taken him to the doctors and 2 times now they told me he had alot of ear wax in them. (which is shocking cuz i clean them alot) we had the doctor take it out with water and holding him and that day he was speaking more and i was suprised could it b...is that a condition or is it that he has speech delay..i guess i just dont know what to think...im waiting on my insurance so i can take him again to a doctor...sometimes he will throw himself around and he has tantrums and puts his hands in his mouth or he will go and hide under blankets and says hes making tunnels..
I agree with sharon. But speaking from one mama to another with a kid that over produces wax, it is part of the problem. We notice a difference with our son after his ears get cleaned out. Granted cause of his condition he doesn't talk much but he is trying and we noticed when his ears are full of wax he doesn't try to talk a whole lot.
stop cleaning his ears. the more you clean the more wax he will get. just wipe on the outside with a damp wash cloth at bath time. my DS is 4 (he'll be 5 on Monday) and when we first had him tested he had a ton of wax in his ears and once i stopped cleaning them too much his wax went away. also, its completely normal for a 4 year old to not say much about school. everyday i ask aiden what he did and all he says is "nothing". i have to ask specifics.
