The bike was his big birthday present for his 5th birthday in December. He really figured it out after we got some toe clips for his pedals - he was so busy concentrating before on keeping his feet on the pedals that he forgot to actually PEDAL, LOL! And yes, that is me getting excited watching him pedal on his own (right in to the lawn, of course, but I'm not picky - he went a few feet).

No, he never managed the trike! Several people, including his PT had mentioned that even typical kids have an easier time with a regular bike than a trike sometimes, and since he had outgrown his trike, we decided to try it. He LOVES his "big boy bike!!!"
Stephen is ALLLLLL about being a "big boy" these days, LOL! I just got the toe clips off of Amazon - the are from kettler, and they are a little small, but as long as he doesn't try to pull his feet off the pedals, it's not a big deal that I couldn't get them all the way on. We love that bike!
sorry if i sound rude. but what delays or issues does stephan have
Oh, no, it's not rude! He's 5, and has Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome, which causes delays with gross and fine motor skills, and speech (as well as various other health issues). He didn't walk until he was 2, and he still can't jump, but he LOVES to ride that bike (when it's warm enough to go out).
