Does anyone have a hard time making/keeping friends?? I'm asking because it seems so difficult sometimes to make friends. Most have typical kids so they don't understand my son who is dev delayed and then the few people I know that have special needs kids I cannot connect with ...ugh!!! I feel very isolated sometimes...Liz

bad

Yep, I sometimes feel isolated too. I have one friend with a special needs child we met in EI. We have breakfast once a month a talk about our children. It's nice to have someone whose child has similar issues. I can share with concerns that my other friends wouldn't understand. Is there any support groups near you? Maybe you could meet a friend there.

I feel the same exact way...its so hard to make friends with people that have normal children because they don't understand what you go through on a daily basis

oooppsss!!! I meant to post this in general discussion. There are support groups but are very specific. For example, Down's Syndrome, autism etc. My son does not fit into anything but he is delayed. Maybe that is why I'm in this group LOL.
