Low moments

Hi everyone.  I guess you could say I am at a low right at the moment.  My 14 month old son was diagnosed with hypotonia at 4 months of age and has been progressing really slowly.  The doctors can't tell me why he has his delays and they have run all the tests they can think of to rule out major illnesses.  The frustrating part is that they also can't tell me if he will ever be able to catch up to his peers.  He is not sitting on his own yet, but he can balance himself in the sitting position for a couple of seconds.  He doesn't grab toys or try to really play with toys.  My husband and I want to have another child, but are scared due to my son's condition.  The doctors can't seem to reassure me that it will be okay if we do.  I just feel very alone in this situation as I know no other chldren or families dealing with developmental delays.

Hello!  :)

I am really sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to your post.  Somehow I missed this one.. :(

Since you posted this in May, I am hoping that you are getting some answers and feeling better now in July.  You are not at all alone; there are many moms right here in this group who have children with delays but not a specific diagnosis.  It is good that the major illnesses have been ruled out, but at the same time I know it is frustrating to not know what is going on with your little man.  Is he receiving therapies?  If so, is he making any progress?

Please post here, come by to visit me or send me a PM if you want to talk.  I am here for you!!

*BIG HUGS*
