Hello Ladies :)
Has anyone heard of this or have any experience with it? What are your thoughts??
Someone told me about it this morning and it sounds like something that may help many of our children.
There is a demo video on this page. Please check it out and let me know:

Thanks!

That looks like it could really help a lot of the kids and grown ups. I am not sure how i feel other than i would really like to try it with willy but I would like to send this on to a couple of willy's drs if you don't mind. I even did locate a provider and there is one in my state the next county over in fact. So close!!!!!
Hi everyone... I've heard good things about it. I've also heard that it is difficult to do even for adults. My son's therapist tried it at a conference and she couldn't follow it ...I really haven't looked into it after that. I would love to hear other input. There are also some programs that are based on the same principle that might be easier for the kids. I guess it would all the depend on the provider.

Hi :)
I am concerned that Jerry will not be able to cooperate to do this. I have spoken to his OT and also to the PT who actually has the equipment. They have to speak to someone else and are going to get back to me on it. They think it is worth a try. I think we are going to try to incorporate it into his OT sessions. She (his OT) has worked with it, and she said that she believes that even if he doesn't have the ability to cooperate fully, there are other aspects of the therapy that could benefit him. It could be very beneficial to many of our kids, but it does look as if it requires quite a bit of cooperation, so we'll have wait and see.
You mentioned some programs that might be easier for the kids to follow? Could you tell us more about that??

Hello everyone...
With all these programs it really depends where the child is at and if they are truly going to benefit from the program. It is good to research the program before spending time and money on it. For my son, I have opted to go with a program for neurodevelopment based on Anna Buck's book (I have someone in my area who is very knowledgeable in this). The following is the site for the originator of the program http://www.annashousellc.com/ I took my son to get evaluated and he had most of the primitive reflexes intact. Meaning his brain had not integrated these reflexes and incorporated the higher ones. I was present during the eval and was able to see all this (it was amazing). What happens is that these reflexes will interfere with learning and higher cognitive function. For example, if a child has the startle reflex he will be distracted at school with everything b/c his body will automatically look for the sound. So the child gets exhausted trying to fight this reflex. We left the office with one exercise (1 quick roll with the objective of slowing them and bringing the number to 3). I thought this was odd and to be honest didn't think it would have the effect it did.
I started to do the rolls with my son, thinking "awe he can handle the 3 quick rolls , I'm just going to skip everything and do the 3 quick rolls" Let me tell you, he was all over the place the next day, doing peripheral vision (which he hadn't done for a long time,) whiny, crying for anything. The same thing happened to my friend's son. Her son is much older and was so overwhelmed he could not take a final exam. I became a believer in the concept and have been doing it ever since. It has been a couple of months and we are still rolling but are up to 3 and slow. This is working on the vestibular system (balance) and we have not gotten to the reflex exercises yet. Eventually, there are exercises that you do at a certain rythm incorporating movements.
I was going to do a listening program, but based on this theory if the moro reflex is stil present then the program will not be beneficial. So we will wait.
Ask the therapists what they think and if you also agree that it will help your son then go for it. Some of the programs require a lot of work at home to see progress. Like I said, I haven't tried the IM. It looks interesting. If you do try it please keep us posted.
Hugs sent your way
