You should NOT take any ASPIRIN, IBUPROFEN OR NAPROXEN SODIUM unless specifically directed by your obstetrical practitioner or nursing staff. The following are examples (not a complete list):
Common brand names that contain aspirin are: Anacin, Aspergum, Bayer, Ecotrin, Empirin, Excedrin
Common brand names that contain ibuprofen are: Advil and Motrin
Common brand names that contain naproxen sodium are: Aleve, Nuprin, and Anaprox
Routine X-Rays should also be avoided during pregnancy.

The following medications ARE allowed anytime during pregnancy:
Antacids: Maalox, Mylanta, Tums
Antibiotics: Amoxicillin, Erythromycin, Penicillin, and Zithromax
Novacaine
Cough preparations: Robitussin DM, Triaminic
Cough drops
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) in accordance with the directions provided on the label

The following medications should generally only be taken AFTER 13 WEEKS gestation:
Cold/Allergy medication: Actifed, Benadryl, Chlortrimeton, Dimetapp, Sudafed, Tylenol Sinus, Tylenol Cold, and Afrin Nasal Spray
Allergy shots.
