My DD is 10 and 1/2 y/o and lately I've noticed little red bumps on her nose(kind of like very small pimples) and I've also noticed her nose is a little bit oily (just her nose; I guess is the hormonal changes she is going through). She washes her face every morning with warm water only. I think she is too young for face cleansers (I use Garnier, but I think it's too much for her); what do you guys think? And if she needs one, what would you reccomend?

Thanks for your help hugs

  • I have been buying the Oxy pads for my son and he is the same age.  Some kids just need them earlier.

  • My 12 year old son who started puberty at 10 1/2  also uses Velocity by Mary Kay. His skin is perfect-no black heads, zits or rashes. Nutrition is also a big part of good skin. We eat organic food and mostly vegetarian. He only drinks rice milk and water (never soda or cow's milk) and I think that's also a big factor.

I also make sure his face gets washed in the morning and at night. If I left personal grooming up to him, he'd probably have zits and cavities. Luckily, he has neither.

  • My daughter uses cetephil(sp?), I think it is a good mild cleanser to start with.
