Problems with SD..

My SD is 11 years old. She lives with her mother but we have joint custody. Anyway..she will not go to school. Her mom said she has missed so much that it's affecting her grades. I do not have a close relationship with my SD. I used to until I had my oldest daughter and then she pulled away. I have talked to her about this and asked her what is going on. She usually tells me when something is bothering her.

Oh and she throws a HUGE fit when she has to come for her visitation with us. She says she doesn't want to leave her mom. She does this when she has to go anywhere without her mom.

I am wondering what is going on and would like to know what you all think I should do?

Sounds like something bigger is going on and someone needs to dig in and find out... Are there any adults outside of her parents that she can talk to? Aunt? Grandma? A friend or her parent? A school counselor? Regular Counselor?
Good Luck!

I would definitely say to try to get her into some sort of counseling to try to figure out what the issue is. It sounds like more than the usual tween/teen dramatics.
