On Jan. 12th, my daughter and a friend of hers decided to ditch school/run away from their respective homes. I got a phone call from her Middle School at almost noon, asking me if my daughter was at home. Of course, I was confused, because I had dropped her off at school some 5 hours earlier. Luckily, my SO was at home at the time, so we started calling her friends and even going to their houses, just in the off chance we'd find her. Well, to make a long and agonizing story short, the grandpa of the friend she was with brought her back to me.
So, now, both my daughter and I got summons to the Justice of the Peace to appear before her next month. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I've heard that I may have to pay a fine because she's missed school a lot. I'm terrified! Has anybody else had this or something similar happen to them? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Wow!! I'm so sorry you're going through this.
Not sure what state you're in, but you might want to research what could happen. Hopefully it'll be just enough to scare your daughter. Heck, if there's a fine - I'd make her pay it. She needs to be held responsible for her actions.
I wish I had better advice for you.
Keep us posted!
Many blessings,
Allison
