Help!Bipolar Tween!

Hi all,
My daughter Daria is 12 and has bipolar disorder. So do I, by the way. In a lot of ways she's lucky I have it too because I can understand and relate to her. What I am having trouble handling is her outbursts and her ranting and raving like a lunatic. Her father gets mad because he will not tolerate her yelling at me, but it's like she can't help it. She goes on and on about the most asinine things, and I try to get to the bottom of it - to find out what the outburst is really about. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. I just don't know what to do when the tears and the yelling start. I am not sure how to get her under control. Any ideas? Thanks!

Have you tried any of the children with bipolar websites? My son is actually being tested now for this. I have found a clinical study for him to enter to get down to the core of his problem. They are paying for everything. It is through UPMC studies. Pittsburgh. Good Luck!
