For the best rates the hotel wants us to prepay with no refund, no cancellation or anything. The last time we did that we had to go in the middle of a tropical depression.

All the places that we want to go are along the the coast and I don't want to have to deal with another tropical disturbance, but if we go with a room that doesn't require this we can only stay about 2 or 3 nights as opposed to 4.

I wish that we could find a place in the mountains to go to... but I am not a fan of touristy type places.

Most of the places that I can find are just small shopping towns and that isn't something that I want to spend my anniversary trip doing. We like exploring places and learning about history.
