1 mom liked this

It is if the sauce is homemade (not the mostly water and chemical store stuff) and topped with green peppers, onions, olives, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and chopped spinach.

No, but it can have vegetables on it (meaning sauce and veggie toppings).

Throw some Green Peppers on it, and it counts--and I will hear nothing in contrast to that!

Our lunch program counts ketchup as a vegetable, so I guess pizza must be! LOL

Although with the tomato debate, is it a fruit or vegetable, I guess it should technically be considered a fruit!

If we are playing "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral"  I think it would be classified mostly as vegetable!!!!! LOL

It's scientifically a fruit but classified as a vegetable, something my ds and I learned from a museum and a science lab. It blew me away. I'm like what I use it as a veggie all the time. Go figure.

Pizza is mostly a starch to begin with because of the bread. But done right you have a five food group meal minus the sodium and whatnot.
My 13 yr old will eat it everyday but I have put him on a break from pizza rolls and hot pockets til he eats way healthier

We always use tortillas for crust and add tomato sauce, veggies and cheese and DH puts a ton of meat on his, so I would think it was a veggie, but we always have salad with it anyway. You can't really have too many veggies! Lol

Partially! It has tomato sauce, so I say it's part veggie. Which IMO makes it a healthy and wise chioce. lol
