Do you use a tent, camper or cabin? We are going to start taking our kids this year and we just ordered our first tent. There are 5 of us and we ordered a 3 room, 10 person tent, lol.

As a family we rv camp. Boys or spouse during boy scout outings use tents. I don't camp alone and usually have to work

Bug spray, sunscreen, extra shoes and clothes.air matress and pump, flash lights, stuff to make smores :) That's a good start.

Quoting psych_mom:

That is my plan but I haven't been camping in years. I'm not sure where to start, lol.

Quoting Wyldbutterfly:

Make a list of everything you will need and check it off as you go. It's a life saver.

Quoting psych_mom:

I've never packed for camping before. I hope I don't forget a lot of stuff.

I used to take my kids all of the time. There would be a bunch of us who got together and went. Part of me misses it but not the part that has to get everything and everyone packed.

We have a camper :)  We started out tenting then moved up to a pop up camper then moved up to a travel trailer and now we have a 5th wheel camper, which is probably what we will keep for a very long time.  My kids are getting older so they won't be camping with us very much but we have the room if they choose too.  The 5th wheel has a compartment in the back that we can store the motorcycle in it to travel with us.  This year we are heading to Sturgis and then to Arizona... just me and Hubby... we will have a second honeymoon :)

My biggest concern is taking enough food for the boys... especially the 11 year old. He can never get enough.lol.

LOL.. I'm sure you will pack too much food. Come home and have to cook it all on the grill. I've done that a gazillion times.

LOL, probably, but we only plan on going for a night or two at a time and within an hours drive of our house so hopefully if I buy too much it will be able to go in the freezer.
