See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
I posted this someplace else... but this is the group where I should be at. Still don't know how to move, if possible, one post from the wrong Group. Sorry again... I learn fast
Hello: I am a single mom of one 11 year old (almost 12 - LOL) adorable girl. She is a good kid, 2nd honor roll in school and pretty good on sports too. Along w/ that comes the boy thing...
She has had many crushes... oh GEE... it started when she was 4/5... by lately these have taken a different tone. Last year while on vacation she had her first puppy love which was reciprocal until the distance between them (he lives in IL - good for me...) became too obvious... OMG... It was Mikey this, and Mikey that... all fun, until he broke my little girl's heart by breaking up w/ her!
This year and after hearing that this boy in her class also liked her (since last year), she "declared" her love for him at the last dance (she is in 6th Grade) and said that she did not care if things went wrong b/c she only has 2 more months of school and than she is gone! And it seems that all classmates are into these little games... heck I remember those... they were fun! But, I am the Mother now!
Well, my advice to her is that I do want to receive any phones calls from the principal related to her relationship w/ this boy and also if her grades drop... she is in big trouble!
Now, she is trying to get me to take them to the movies, mall,... but at 11?!?!?!?! I thought I would have to go through all of this about age 13 not now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone in the same situation? If I take them to the movies or a mall and all to be done within the limits of her age, is that wrong?! Do today's cool and still young at spirit moms do that? I want her to have fun but also not too much fun b/c she is only 11!
So, looking forward to whatever advice you have, I am willing to listen to any stories you care to share.
